During late 2018, Google+ made an announcement stating that the platform would no longer be available to consumer users.
The final deprecation date was recently set as: April 2, 2019.

As social signal providers, we have adjusted our service according to these updates. Google+ signals have been removed from our packages and have been replaced by additional social signals from: Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
